LACK OF POTABLE DRINGING WATER IN JHABUA DISTRICT

How does lack of potable drinking water cause infant mortality?

Brain mapping is as follows -

The main source of water in Jhabua district are tube wells and hand pumps i.e Ground Water.

The level of ground water is decreasing due to rampant cutting of forests thus causing decrease in water seeping capacity of the soil due to soil erosion.

Also, The ground water gets contaminated due to the rock phosphate mining and processing for phosphatic fertilizer production. This leads to increased levels of fluoride in the ground water beyond levels that can be considered safe for consumption.
Consumption of this fluoride contaminated water leads to a disease named fluorosis which affects teeth, bones and other organs.
Continuous and excess consumption of this contaminated water ultimately leads to death especially in infants.
